About
An independent reviewer of healthcare education
CPD England reviews medical and healthcare educational activities against published standards, issues a recommended CPD credit value, and records the result in a register anyone can check.
Why CPD England exists
Clinicians are asked to record continuing professional development every year, and a large market has grown up to supply it. Very little of that market is reviewed by anyone other than the organisation selling the course. CPD England exists to provide that independent step: a structured review by someone with relevant expertise, against criteria that are published rather than private, with the outcome recorded publicly.
What we do
- Review educational activities against the eight published CPD England standards
- Issue a written decision referenced to each standard
- Assign a recommended CPD credit value using a published methodology
- Maintain a public register so learners, employers and appraisers can verify a claim
- Investigate complaints about accredited activities and misuse of our mark
How we work
Separation between selling and deciding
The person who reviews an application is not the person who invoices for it. Reviewers record their findings against each standard, and those findings are what the decision letter is based on.
